The soon-to-be-signed Free Trade Agreement between Peru and Australia is of great quality, ambitious and broad, President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski said Friday after noting it will generate more jobs and investment.
The Peruvian leader and Australia's Prime Minister
Malcom Turnbull
restated their commitment to concluding free trade agreement talks today.
"I'm proud of having signed a
declaration of intent on the
FTA. Australia is a very successful nation," the Head of State commented during a ceremony held at APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Da Nang, Viet Nam.
"Australia is a good example of progress, as it started shipping commodities and, nowadays, is a services and industry exporter," Mr. Kuczynski said in a joint statement following the document's signing.
On the other hand, Mr. Turnbull said the document will lead to further investment, jobs and business ventures between the two economies.
"We have much in common. These are two of the few countries that have experienced sustained growth for over a decade," he was quoted as saying.
The statesman was joined by Ministers Ricardo Luna (Foreign Affairs) and Eduardo Ferreyros (Foreign Trade and Tourism), as well as Protocol and Ceremony Director-General Juan Carlos Gamarra and adviser Roberto Rodriguez.
