08:55 | Da Nang (Viet Nam), Nov. 8.
Australia has confirmed its willingness to sign a Free Trade Agreement with Peru during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Da Nang City.
"I hope we will conclude the Australia-Peru Free Trade Agreement at APEC. This will create opportunities for Australian exporters and send a strong message to the world that Australia supports free trade," Australian Trade Minister
Steven Ciobo said Wednesday in a statement.
Peru has completed 21 free trade agreements with China, the United States, Japan, and the European Union.
In 2016, trade exchange between the two countries increased 57%, although it still represents less than 0.5% of Peruvian shipments.
