Peru's potential entry into the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) as a full member is on the right track, President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski affirmed from France.

"I have been at OECD [headquarters] to talk about our possible membership, which is going well," the Head of State told local RPP TV and radio station.

"And we have had a meeting with businesspersons […]. We are seeking investment here [in Paris]," he added.

The statesman also confirmed French counterpart Emmanuel Macron's visit to Peru, joined by a business delegation.

"I invited him [President Macron] to come to Peru for the Olympic Committee [September vote on the 2024 Olympics], and he will come joined by some businesspersons," he said.

"We very much saw eye to eye in terms of environmental protection, and we are discussing matters with some companies here," he continued.

The President thus highlighted his official visit to France has proved highly productive, as it also served to present the country's offer to the French business sphere.

In this sense, he underlined their optimism about Peru's economic situation, assuring the political noise generated by the local scenario has not had any impact in that part of the world.

Lastly, Mr. Kuczynski indicated his visit to Spain will follow a similar vein: attracting more businesspersons interested in investing in the Andean nation.

He also referred to his coming meetings with His Majesty King Felipe VI and with President of the Government Mariano Rajoy.
