Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski expressed his willingness to work with Congress and reiterated there are no grounds for a new impeachment motion against him.
Statements were made on Sunday night on a local TV show broadcast by State-run channel TV Peru.
During the program, he said a presidential
impeachment process would cause chaos at a time when the country is about to take off after several years of economic downturn.
The Head of State was emphatic about his eagerness to work with the Legislative Branch in order to take forward
projects the country needs.
"I want to work with the Parliament and, obviously, if Kenji [Fujimori] and his supporters are part of such project, I'll work with them. I also want to work with Mrs. Keiko [Fujimori], though. I've
held meetings with her," he expressed.
At first, he recalled, Fuerza Popular party leader and former presidential candidate Keiko Fujimori said her party was not going to impeach him. However, the facts suggest this has been the intention since the very first moment.
