Peruvian striker Paolo Guerrero thanked fans for their support and said he is confident truth will soon be revealed as he expects his return to wear the national team jersey again.

Statements were posted on Facebook two days before the World Cup playoff match against New Zealand and following a provisional 30-day suspension measure on the player for an adverse analytical result after a World Cup goal-less draw against Argentina on October 5.

"Thank you all for your support! I'm confident truth will come out soon, and I'll be back to the field to defend my country's colors with heart and soul," he stated.

Peru's all-time leading goal-scorer has requested a counter-test and detailed information of all medications he took during the last two qualifying matches.

Additionally, his attorneys have issued a request for precautionary measure for FIFA's Disciplinary Committee to lift the 30-day ban imposed by the soccer governing body.

According to Brazil's sports outlet Globoesporte, his defense expects the measure will be approved, letting him play the November 15 return leg at Lima's National Stadium.
