Peru's national soccer team coach Ricardo Gareca on Tuesday dedicated the red-white squad's recent victory to all Peruvians.

"We would have liked to qualify (for the round of 16); regretfully, we couldn't make it," Gareca expressed.

"Fortunately for the fans who had joined us, we managed to win this match and end (our participation in the World Cup) on a high note," he underlined.

Gareca remarked this triumph was dedicated to all Peruvians, to the players who participated in the qualifying process, including injured Jefferson Farfan and Alberto Rodriguez, as well as to the Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF).

"The guys did their best," the coach pointed out.

According to The Tiger, Peruvian fans' support was incredible at this mega event.

"I only have words of thanks. I love them, too," he added.

When asked about his future as head coach, Gareca said FPF Sports Manager Juan Carlos Oblitas will play an important role in his decision.

As is known, the strategist had led Peru's national team to a World Cup tournament for the first time in 36 years.
