Peru loses 1-0 to Brazil in World Cup qualifying game

Peru's national soccer team fell 1-0 to its Brazilian counterpart in their second qualifying match of the CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifiers in Lima, Peru.

The first half of the game ended without goals.

In the first minutes of the match, the Incas managed to put intense pressure on their opponents.

In the 15th minute, Brazil scored a goal; however, it was ruled out for offside.

In the 28th minute, Richarlison scored for the visiting team, but again the goal was ruled out after a crucial VAR review.

In the second half, in the 89th minute, Brazil managed to score the only goal of the game, which ended in a 1-0 victory away from home. 

Thus, Marquinhos' last-gasp goal gave Brazil a consecutive win.

The game was played on Tuesday night at the National Stadium in the Peruvian capital, Lima.
