Peruvian athlete Diego Elias began the 2023-24 squash season with a resounding victory in his debut at the PSA World Tour Platinum event, which takes place in Paris, France, from August 27 to September 2.
The member of the Athlete Support Program (PAD) and the "Road to Santiago 2023 Program" of the Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD), beat Shahjahan Khan (United States) 3-0 (11-4, 11-7 and 11-2) in 39 minutes.
Thus, the current World No.2 in the PSA World Rankings will play in the third round of the tournament, on Wednesday, August 30, against an opponent still to be determined.
Moreover, before representing Peru at said major sporting event, he will participate at the
QTerminals Qatar Classic 2023 (September 9-16 in Qatar) and the
U.S. Open (October 7-14 in the United States).
