Luis Castilla assumes Peru Ambassor post in the US

Former Finance Minister, Luis Miguel Castilla, has officially assumed corresponding duties as Ambassador to the US, confirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Castilla will lead the Peruvian diplomatic representation in Washington D.C. He will replace former Peruvian Ambassador to the US, Harold Forsyth, whose diplomatic term ended last Friday.

By the beginning of 2015, former Finance Minister was appointed the Extraordinary Ambassador and Plenipotentiary of Peru at the United States of America, according to the Supreme Resolution published in the official newspaper El Peruano.

Castilla holds a PhD in Economics by the Johns Hopkins University. He was named Minister of Finance from July 28 2011 to September 14 2014.
