Peru-Ecuador hold Binational Cabinet Meeting today in Chiclayo

The V Binational Cabinet Meeting Peru-Ecuador will take place Wednesday in Peru’s northern Chiclayo city and will count with the participation of Peruvian President Ollanta Humala and his Ecuadorian counterpart Rafael Correa.

According to the official program, President Humala arrived in Chiclayo at 08:30 hours (13:30 GMT), where he will wait for the arrival of President Correa who will arrive from Quito.

At 09:30 (14:30 GMT) both presidents will head to Gran Hotel Chiclayo, where they will inaugurate the Binational Cabinet Meeting and talk about the joint work to be done.

Afterwards, both presidents will travel by helicopter to the trans Andean tunnel of Olmos irrigation project.

Presidents Humala and Correa will have lunch at 13:30 hours (18:30 GMT) in the above mentioned hotel. Then, they will go to the Royal Tombs of Sipan museum to take part in the meeting’s closing ceremony.

Both presidents will then meet the local population and will be given the keys to the city of Chiclayo, the medal of the city of Lambayeque and the Lord of Sipan Award from the regional government.

Finally, both leaders will sign a joint declaration, some 15 agreements and will have a few words with the members of the Binational Cabinet.

At 18:00 hours (23:00 GMT) President Humala will travel to Lima, but the Ecuadorian head of State will take part in a ceremony where he will be conferred with the Doctor Honoris Causa degree from the University of Chiclayo. He will go back to Ecuador at 21:15 hours (02:15 GMT).
