U.S. Secretary of State arrives in Peru

United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Peru on Wednesday evening.

The U.S. senior official will follow a schedule that includes a meeting with President Keiko Fujimori at the Government Palace in Lima on Thursday.

Upon his arrival at Air Group No. 8, the State Secretary was received by Foreign Affairs Minister Carlos Espa and U.S. Ambassador to Peru Bernie Navarro.

Before landing in Lima, Rubio noted that the U.S. government has great expectations for working with President Keiko Fujimori's administration to project the 200 years of bilateral relations with our country into the future.

The meeting the Secretary of State will hold with Peru's top official tomorrow will help deepen the strategic partnership between the two nations and strengthen cooperation ties on matters of priority for the host country.
