The
U.S. Embassy in Peru has congratulated the people of Peru for holding successful presidential and legislative elections, following the proclamation of Pedro Castillo as President-elect by the
National Election Board (JNE).
In a tweet posted on Monday, the U.S. Embassy said that it appreciates the deep ties biding the two countries and hopes to strengthen them together with President-elect Pedro Castillo, after his inauguration on July 28.
In his first remarks as President-elect, Castillo called for unity and announced that his government will work for all Peruvians and "all bloods."
