The British Government has provided international cooperation to complement national efforts to combat COVID-19 in Peru, through projects implemented by various non-governmental organizations, Peru's Foreign Affairs Ministry has reported.

The Peru Mission association was in charge of providing food to 250 vulnerable families affected by the pandemic in Loreto region; while Quest Overseas Peru provided food and emergency housing to 80 families in Lima's Villa Maria del Triunfo district.

On the other hand, the Asociacion de Voluntariado del Instituto de Salud del Niño—AVOLDINSN (Volunteer Association of the Children's Health Institute) supported patients at said institution, as well as their families, to whom it provided food, clothing, and emotional support.

Likewise, the NGO Partners in Health began the infrastructure improvement of field hospitals set up at EsSalud's Pan-American Village in Lima, as well as the implementation of eight health centers in Tumbes region with supplies for disinfection.

Finally, the NGO Salvation Army has taken actions to prevent the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) at Lima-based prisons with the highest risk of spread, such as Lurigancho, Ancon I, Ancon II, and Castro Castro.
