The Superfoods Peru brand mission in Houston generated around US$1.8 million in sale commitments for the upcoming 12 months, the Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) reported Monday.
Those firms participated in business rounds with 20 buyers, including large enterprises in the retail and food service sectors such as
Goya,
Sysco Corporation, Atalanta, and Eastland, among others.
At the event, the most demanded Peruvian products were
quinoa grains, powdered beverages, chocolate, and snacks.
Additionally, this delegation had the opportunity to visit the Port of Houston, deemed the busiest port in the U.S., in terms of foreign tonnage.
It must be noted Houston —the fourth-largest city in the United States with 2.3 million inhabitants— relies on a great economic activity.
The event was held on March 7 in Houston, Texas.
