President Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday was welcomed by Spanish King Felipe VI at the Royal Palace of Madrid, within the framework of his
State visit to the European country following a visit to Portugal.
They were joined by First Lady Maribel Diaz and Queen Letizia Ortiz on this occasion.
During the ceremony, both national hymns were sung, with a salvo of 21 cannon shots.
Likewise, the Inca nation's Head of State and the monarch reviewed a Royal Guard battalion.
According to the Royal House of Spain, after the salute of the respective official delegations, a Royal Guard parade took place.
Afterwards, the Peruvian top official and the King held a brief meeting inside the Palace.
In the afternoon, the monarchs had lunch with President Vizcarra and his wife.
