Spanish King welcomes Peruvian President in Madrid

President Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday was welcomed by Spanish King Felipe VI at the Royal Palace of Madrid, within the framework of his State visit to the European country following a visit to Portugal.

They were joined by First Lady Maribel Diaz and Queen Letizia Ortiz on this occasion.

During the ceremony, both national hymns were sung, with a salvo of 21 cannon shots. 

Likewise, the Inca nation's Head of State and the monarch reviewed a Royal Guard battalion. 

According to the Royal House of Spain, after the salute of the respective official delegations, a Royal Guard parade took place. 

Afterwards, the Peruvian top official and the King held a brief meeting inside the Palace.

In the afternoon, the monarchs had lunch with President Vizcarra and his wife.

As is known, this trip is expected to strengthen bilateral relations and promote investments.
