South Korea strengthens cultural ties with Peru's Zaña district

Zaña district, located in Chiclayo province, Peru's northern Lambayeque region, was the scene of a special event with the visit of a delegation from the Republic of South Korea.

The meeting aimed to strengthen friendship and cultural cooperation ties between the Asian country and the northern Peruvian town.

The foreign delegation was composed of Lieutenant Colonel Chinhui Park, Defense Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of South Korea; Sangwon Kwon, Counselor at the Korean Embassy; and Hyemin Lee.

District Mayor Aladino Mori received the distinguished visitors with honors and accompanied them on a tour of the iconic Convent of San Agustin. It is regarded as an architectural gem that preserves centuries of history and cultural heritage in the region.


During the visit, the South Korean representatives were able to appreciate Zaña's cultural richness, historical legacy, and living identity, which helped strengthen the bonds of friendship and exchange between the two communities.

The Zaña District Municipality expressed its satisfaction in hosting such distinguished figures.

Likewise, it emphasized that these meetings position Zaña as a space for intercultural exchange and as a reference for international cooperation in culture and heritage.

Through to this event, Zaña reaffirms its role as a place where history, identity, and friendship between nations intertwine, fostering relationships of respect and mutual benefit
