on Friday indicated that the process which led to establishing the delimitation of the Peru-Chile maritime border must serve to build and consolidate a future of unity and peace across the region.
"Peace brings progress for everyone," Mrs. Boluarte emphasized.
"We must make the most of this opportunity to build and consolidate a future of unity and peace," she expressed.
The top official pointed out that, after this Peru-Chile border dispute was settled, a fishery development center consolidated in our country's southern area.
"It was possible to attract new investments," Mrs. Boluarte noted as well, since a situation of stability was generated once the aforementioned dispute had concluded.
"The population of the south has benefited from the clear delimitation," she pointed out.
This has also "allowed access to new fishing spaces," Mrs. Boluarte underlined. Similarly, she affirmed that all of this has increased investment and cooperation between Peru and Chile.
International example
In that sense, the president underscored that "in times of conflicts that drive countries apart, Peru and Chile are a clear and firm example that controversies can be resolved peacefully."
"This marked a new stage in our bilateral relationship, guiding it towards building an environment of mutual trust and cooperation, in addition to allowing us to face a joint outreach into the future," the top official highlighted.
At this event, President Boluarte honored former Minister Allan Wagner and other personalities who also participated in this process from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Peruvian Navy, and the legal sphere.
This ceremony was held at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima.
