Presidents of Peru and France hold bilateral meeting

The President of the Republic of Peru, Dina Boluarte, held a bilateral meeting with her counterpart from the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, on Tuesday.

This information was shared by the Presidential Office on the X platform.

Both dignitaries discussed the interest in intensifying investment and trade, highlighting the Government-to-Government agreements implemented in Peru, as well as security and defense policies, including the fight against drug trafficking, which affects both states.

President Macron reiterated France's support for Peru's accession to the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

He also thanked President Boluarte for her presence at the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3) and her commitment to ocean preservation.


Activities

The Head of State is currently in the European country carrying out a series of official activities.

On Monday, Mrs. Boluarte participated in the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3), held in the French city of Nice.




As a non-party to UNCLOS, this agreement reaffirms Peru's commitment to ocean conservation without affecting its 200-mile maritime domain.
