Presidential plane carrying Peruvians stops over in Cape Verde

09:11 | Praia (Cape Verde), Oct. 15.

The presidential airplane transporting Peruvian citizens who had been stranded in Israel made a stopover on Sunday morning in Cape Verde —a country located northwest of the African continent.

This was reported by the Presidency of the Republic via X (formerly known as Twitter).

In a posted video, President Dina Boluarte affirmed that the Foreign Affairs Ministry continues to carry out the corresponding coordination to assist more Peruvians.

"We continue to coordinate with our Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with our ambassadors in Israel, in order to continue supporting our compatriots so they can be safe," Mrs. Boluarte expressed.

Similarly, the top official reported that ministry officials are coordinating with Ecuador and LATAM Airlines so that more compatriots can be evacuated from Israel to Peru.

"An airplane is departing today, in coordination with Ecuador, to Quito; we are also coordinating in Lima so that, via LATAM, Peruvians who land in Quito can (also) arrive in Lima," she stated.

The aircraft, which also carries President Boluarte, is expected to arrive in Lima today.
