Peru and China have long-lasting relations, especially in mining, infrastructure and energy sectors, and Xi Jinping believes cooperation in these areas needs to be fostered.
He thinks technological assistance for environment and agriculture sectors is also required.
The leader expressed gratitude for Mr. Kuczynski’s decision to choose China for his first trip abroad as President of Peru.
In this sense, Mr. Kuczynski assured he chose China because it is a country seeking its own and independent development path.
Likewise, the Asian Giant’s leader expressed China’s full support for Peru’s chairmanship of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in November this year.
On the other hand, Mr. Kuczynski used the opportunity to praise China for its emergence as world's second largest economy.
According to China's state-run China Central Television, or CCTV, the Peruvian leader has signed several bilateral agreements on cultural issues and media.
