President Martin Vizcarra takes part —via videoconference— in the Thanksgiving Ceremony for Peru, on the occasion of the country's 199th Independence Day Anniversary celebrations.

On this occasion, the Head of State participates remotely from the Government Palace, accompanied by his wife First Lady Maribel Diaz and following the health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The celebration is organized by the National Evangelical Council of Peru (CONEP) and the Union of Evangelical Christian Churches of Peru (UNICEP).

This is the 15th service of this type taking place in Peru and, considering the current situation regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, Government guidelines are being complied with and the general public was not admitted to the ceremony.

The act is broadcast throughout the country from the Anglican Cathedral of the Good Shepherd.

As is known, President Martin Vizcarra delivered his annual Address to the Nation on Tuesday, also on the occasion of Independence Day celebrations.
