The Head of State explained that —based on the number of positive cases detected— the trend remains at the projected 6% rate.
"Between yesterday and today, there was a considerable increase of 100 new citizens who have tested positive, out of a little more than the 1,100 people who have been examined," he expressed.
The top official added that 58 infected people are hospitalized, and 14 in Intensive Care Units (ICU), whereas 13 are connected to mechanical ventilation.
In addition, the statesman highlighted that 14 people were discharged after having overcome the disease and are declared healthy.
On this occasion, the President was joined by members of the Council of Ministers and other authorities. The event was held at the Government Palace in Lima.
Thursday marks the eleventh day of mandatory social isolation.
