President Vizcarra calls on Peruvians to stand together against coronavirus

13:33 | Lima, Mar. 10.

President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday called on Peruvians to stand together in order to face the coronavirus (COVID-19) cases confirmed in the South American country, urging them to follow the recommendations issued by the Ministry of Health to come out well from this situation.

"We are all responsible of maintaining and following the instructions provided by the Ministry of Health. There are 11 cases confirmed across Peru. Three brought the virus from Europe and infected their relatives. We have to ensure that further spread will be halted," the President expressed.

"Peruvians can overcome any challenge in life when we work together," said Mr. Vizcarra, noting that a national report will be prepared after the ministers' return.

"The measures taken need everyone's support and commitment. I am sure we are going to succeed in dealing with this problem, as we have with previous ones, and we are going to do this together: the Government, its authorities, hand-in-hand with the population," he emphasized.
