COVID-19: Peru Foreign Trade-Tourism Min oversees implementation of protocols in Cusco

11:58 | Cusco (Cusco region), Mar. 10.

Peruvian Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Edgar Vasquez arrived in the Inca city of Cusco on Tuesday morning to coordinate and verify —along with local authorities— the implementation of prevention protocols to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19).

As part of his work agenda, the minister is scheduled to meet with Governor Jean Paul Benavente, as well as officials from different regional and local directorates.

Additionally, he is slated to visit education and health centers in order to verify the measures implemented to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Upon arrival in Cusco, Vasquez inspected the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport, and verified the installation of information panels on the new coronavirus as well as the condition of restrooms, by making sure they have water, soap, and toilet paper.

Prevention

Minsa recommends that people should take the following preventive measures:

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

• Cover your nose and mouth with your forearm or a tissue when you cough or sneeze.

• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.

• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
