The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo praised the work of consular missions for guaranteeing the safety of Peruvians repatriated from Ukraine.

"I convey greetings and support to our consular missions for guaranteeing the safety and integrity of this first group of Peruvians repatriated from Ukraine," Mr. Castillo expressed via Twitter on Wednesday evening.

Likewise, the Head of State pointed out that, after a corresponding evaluation, a more efficient means of transfer was chosen.

"Following the corresponding evaluation, we opted for the fastest and most efficient way for their transfer and peace of mind of their families," he pointed out.

Upon arrival in Warsaw, the Embassy of Peru provided accommodation and food to the fellow citizens. This group of compatriots joins the 7 Peruvian nationals who had already managed to leave Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs —through its consular missions— remains in permanent contact with displaced fellow nationals so as to guarantee their safety and integrity, and in response to the evolution of the security-related situation in the area, which is highly volatile and changing.
