The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday reported that the Honorary Consulate of Peru in Ukraine assisted 24 Peruvian citizens in departing from Ukraine to Poland.

Via Twitter, the government agency indicated that 24 Peruvians left from the central train station in Kiev to the Polish city of Warsaw.

The ministry indicated that the Embassy of Peru in Warsaw will provide accommodation and food to the fellow citizens.

The group of compatriots joins the 7 Peruvians who have already managed to leave Ukraine in recent days.

A few days ago, the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported that around 320 Peruvian citizens resided in Ukraine before the conflict began —196 of whom are registered on a list to be evacuated to Poland at any time.

As is known, Peru strongly condemned the illegal, unjustified, and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation.

It also called for the immediate withdrawal of the military presence and the cessation of any other military action in that country.
