The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri Ore, affirmed today that his government will not rest until it defeats crime, and assured that he will serve the nation with honor and responsibility until the last day of his term.
“We will act relentlessly against those who violate the law. We will be forceful, but within the bounds of respect for the Constitution, the laws, and human rights. They will not break us; we will not rest until we defeat them,” he emphasized.
During the ceremony that recognized him as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and National Police, the president stated that it is essential to act as a united front of the State, with discipline, intelligence, patriotism, and loyalty, to restore the peace that Peruvians deserve, as well as the trust of the population.
“I call upon all Peruvians to unite, not as a political gesture, but as a moral duty to history and the future. Unity will not always mean that we think alike, but rather transforming our differences into strengths in service to our nation and the common good,” the head of state added.
At the ceremony, President Jeri emphasized that he assumes the leadership of the country with responsibility and leadership, following the example of Francisco Bolognesi, Miguel Grau, José Abelardo Quiñones, and Mariano Santos.

“They taught us that honor is never surrendered, that one gives one's life for Peru, and that the homeland always comes before any personal interest,” he emphasized after expressing his commitment to defend the nation with courage, valor, and loyalty, and that he will serve it with honor until the last day of his term.
He also recalled that the Armed Forces and the National Police have been and will continue to be pillars in Peru's difficult times, such as the fight against terrorism, the fight against drug trafficking, the defense of the borders, and operations in the VRAEM (Valley of the Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers).

“Today we remain a republic and live in democracy thanks to all of you,” said the president, who urged them to redouble their efforts, stating that security is the gateway to the future and that the State cannot allow fear to prevail in the streets.
President Jeri participated in this ceremony along with the Ministers of Defense, Cesar Diaz Peche, and the Interior, Vicente Tiburcio.
