The
President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Sunday extended warm greetings to all fathers in Peru on the occasion of Father's Day.
Moreover, the Head of State recognized the valuable role fathers play in society.
"Dear fathers from all over Peru. Today is a very special day, a day in which we recognize the valuable and important role that you play in your families and in our society," the dignitary stated.
"We pay a well-deserved tribute to those who do everything they can to see their children happy, giving them effort, love, advice, and protection," he added.
The country's top official underscored that many fathers spend most of their time away from home because they have a responsibility and are the support of their homes, but nothing stops them from spending time with their children.
Likewise, Mrs. Boluarte referred to those parents who have to work away from their family in remote areas or abroad.
"On this day, we not only pay tribute to biological parents but also to those who fulfill this role at home: uncles, grandparents, brothers, mothers who are the heads of their households, because they are both mother and father at the same time, as well as those who decided to protect a boy or girl offering them a home, healthcare, and education," she said.
The Head of State also recalled those fathers who are no longer with us, offering a prayer in their memory, as well as the elderly and those who live in a situation of abandonment.
