President Jose Jeri warned that those who oppressed Venezuela for years are not welcome in Peru, referring to members of the regime of Nicolás Maduro, who was captured by the United States.

He stated this while commenting on the new immigration measures established by the National Superintendency of Migration to prevent foreign nationals linked to the regime of Nicolas Maduro, captured by the United States, from attempting to use Peru to evade justice.

The head of state emphasized that "they are warned. Those who oppressed a country for years are not welcome in our country,” President Jeri, stated on his social media account.

The Ministry of the Interior reported that, through the Superintendency of Migration (Migraciones), and in coordination with the National Police of Peru (PNP), new immigration measures will be implemented starting today due to the events in Venezuela.

In that regard, he explained that "measures will be adopted to restrict entry into the country, in accordance with the free exercise of our sovereignty and in the interest of internal order and national security, with respect to those individuals who have been sanctioned, in order to prevent them from using Peru to evade justice."

The measure was adopted following the capture of Nicolas Maduro and his extradition to the United States.
