The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo expressed his support for entrepreneurs nationwide, noting that the Government is working in favor of the reactivation of micro- and small-sized enterprises (MSEs).
"I express my support for entrepreneurs in the country. A few days ago, I enacted the Law that reduces the general sales tax rate (IGV) from 18% to 8% for restaurants, hotels, and tourist lodgings," the Head of State said on Twitter.
"Today (Monday), I met with more than 200 micro and small entrepreneurs for the recognition of said law," the tweet reads.
He also said that the regulation of this law will be promoted within the framework of the economic revival.
"I express my solidarity with the families of micro-entrepreneurs, who had to close their businesses due to the pandemic," the dignitary said in remarks at the Government Palace in Lima.
Moreover, Mr. Castillo underscored that he is respectful of the branches of government, and made a request to leave useless confrontations behind as they are not good at all for the country.
In this regard, the top official emphasized that the work undertaken by the Executive Branch will also focus on pushing more regulations in favor of all Peruvians.
"The work between the Executive Branch and Parliament is key to promoting laws in favor of the people," the President remarked.
"I welcome the fact that we have come to an agreement to benefit enterprising men and women who do their best for the country," he added.
