Peru will hold the Presidency of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum for the third time in 2024, which shows the country's positioning in the Asia-Pacific region, the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday.
Towards APEC 2024
According to the Peruvian government agency, holding the APEC Presidency will generate benefits for Peruvians throughout the country.
In a video posted on its social media platforms, the Ministry stated that
the two previous APEC Presidencies —in 2008 and 2016— generated more than US$9.4 billion in investments across the country.
It also noted that, in accordance with COMEX Peru, the country's trade with the 21 member economies has grown 21% per year since Peru joined APEC in 2008.
Official venues
According to the Foreign Affairs sector, these five venues will provide benefits to the entire nation.
Moreover, it stated that this opportunity will allow Peru to show the world its potential for investment, trade, tourism, and business.
