Peruvians repatriated from Mexico, Australia, Canada and Spain

11:32 | Lima, Apr. 14.

Peruvians stuck in Mexico, Australia, Canada, Spain, and the Dominican Republic were repatriated on humanitarian flights arranged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

190 Peruvian nationals arrived on a flight from Mexico City, under the necessary sanitary conditions.

Meanwhile, 338 compatriots returned from Cancun, with the support of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Peruvian Embassy and Consulate in Mexico.

On a different flight, 86 Peruvians were repatriated from Sydney (Australia), while 23 from Thailand, Indonesia, India, New Zealand, and Singapore.

Other 264 arrived from Canadian cities of Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, with strict sanitary security measures.

Under the same conditions, a group of Peruvian nationals came from the Dominican Republic and Madrid (Spain). They were stranded after the quarantine —over the COVID-19 pandemic— took effect in the country.

The repatriates must comply with mandatory social isolation (quarantine) before returning home, to rule out they are infected with the virus.
