Peruvian resident in Israel, Argentine husband found dead

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday afternoon reported that Peruvian citizen Margit Shnaider and her husband were found dead in the zone of conflagration between Israel and Hamas terrorist group.

On behalf of the Peruvian Government, the ministry expressed its strongest rejection and repudiation of the murder.

Condolences were also conveyed to the victims' family members and friends.

The Peruvian Foreign Affairs Ministry communicated the fact via its social media channels. 

Shnaider and her spouse, an Argentine citizen, disappeared on October 7, and their location was unknown until today.

On October 7, the Hamas attack against Israel began, which triggered the escalation of a conflict that has caused thousands of deaths so far this month.

Moreover, the Foreign Affairs Ministry indicated that Peru's Embassy in Israel and diplomatic missions in the region continue working tirelessly to assist the Peruvian community that could be affected.

Shnaider and her husband had resided in Israel for 15 years.
