(US$6.317 billion) grew 7.3% and accounted for 89.1% of total agricultural exports in 2019, the Association of Peruvian Exporters (Adex) has reported.
Within this framework, the most demanded products were grapes (US$874.5 million),
blueberries,
avocados, asparagus, and mangoes.
It should be noted blueberries experienced the highest growth (+50.9%).
The most important
target markets were the United States (US$2.260 billion), the Netherlands, Spain, UK, Ecuador, Chile, China, and Colombia.
It is worth mentioning that the first two alone received 52.1% of those dispatches.
Other markets were Canada, Hong Kong, Germany, Mexico, South Korea, France, and Japan.
Traditional agro-exports
The traditional agricultural dispatches (US$773.04 million) grew 1.6% and had coffee (US$634 million) as one of the main products —which despite reporting declines (-6.8%)— it alone accounted for 82.1% of the total.
Likewise, sugar cane, non-carded wool, among others, stood out in the ranking due to their exported amount.
In addition, the markets —which led the ranking from a total of 66— were the United States (US$213.5 million), Germany (US$153.9 million), and Belgium (US$63.5 million). Together, they had a participation of 55.7%.
The latter two fell by 3.6% and 19.6%, respectively.
Finally, they were followed by Colombia (US$59.1 million), Sweden, Canada, Italy, United Kingdom, France, South Korea, Uruguay, the Netherlands, Japan, Spain, and Ecuador.
