Since the state of emergency was declared in the country, the Peruvian Space Agency (Conida) has prepared reports on compliance with social isolation measures —decreed by the Government— based on information obtained from
PeruSAT-1 satellite images of various cities of the country.
At first, the agency developed an indicator of compliance with the quarantine from the districts observed, identifying vehicles on the roads, as well as canopies of informal stalls at markets.
The images below show La Cumbre market, located on Tupac Amaru Avenue in Lima's Carabayllo district.
According to
Conida, the views show the lack of compliance with the measures decreed to prevent COVID-19.
These reports are prepared by the Conida Geomatics Directorate and delivered to the Ministry of Health to determine the indicator scores of compliance with the quarantine and other actions for each district.
