Peru's tourist attractions to be promoted in India

13:04 | Lima, Dec. 24.

Peru will showcase its top tourist attractions at the 26th edition of South Asia's Leading Travel Trade Show (SATTE 2019) in India, Domestic and Foreign Tour Operators Association (Apotur) said on Monday.

Together with the Trade Office of Peru in New Delhi (OCEX New Delhi), a group six tour operators —all members of Apotur— will participate in this major event on January 16-18 at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, in New Delhi.

Peruvian participants include Setours, Viajes Pacifico, Solmartour, Travel Group, Lima Tours, and Coltur.

The above-mentioned operators are set to meet Indian counterparts during the three-day event to increase the tourist flow into the Andean nation.

"In terms of tourism, Peru is seen as an attractive country, and the flow of Indian visitors is expected to increase," the business association reported.

According to PromPeru, most Hindu travelers in 2017 headed to Brazil, Argentina, and Ecuador, with an average expenditure per tourist that fluctuated between US$860 and US$1,000.

It must be noted more than 31,000 international buyers and tourism industry entrepreneurs are expected to attend SATTE 2019.

This year's edition will feature representatives from 50 countries and more than 1,000 exhibitors.

In 2018, the number of Indian tourists visiting the Inca country grew 36.9% over the same period last year.
