Peru's Ruidiaz scores first goal in the U.S.

14:25 | Seattle (U.S.), Jul. 26.

Peruvian striker Raul Ruidiaz scored his first goal defending Seattle Sounders FC at a Major League Soccer (MLS) match against San Jose Earthquakes (1-0) last Wednesday.

The 28-year-old athlete did not take long to show his skills on the field and rank as one of the North American league's scorers.

It must be noted this was a hard-fought game for the Raven Green, which marked the second appearance of the newly-signed player.

In the 61st minute, Ruidiaz recovered the ball and counterattacked with the support of teammates Nicolas Lodeiro, as well as Cristian Roldan.

He chested down a pass from Roldan near the penalty area and —without hesitation— slid the ball into the net.

Raul "The Flea" Ruidiaz ran towards the stand to celebrate holding a Peruvian flag.

With this victory, Seattle Sounders ranked 10th in MLS' Western Conference with 23 points.
