Peru's Quechua-language production wins best int'l short film at Brazilian festival

Peru's "Cuentos de Adobe" (Tales on Adobe) was crowned the Best International Short Film at the 19th National Guaiba Student Film Festival held in Brazil.

The Peruvian production's storyline was deemed as one of the best plots, thus becoming the only winning Peruvian project and defeating films from over 100 countries.

Cuentos de Adobe received several nominations at this important international competition. 

Thus, the Peruvian film earned first place in the following categories: Best International Fiction Film, Best Director, and Best Script.


The story was developed in Quechua and Spanish.

The short film tells the story of a man who tries to keep his grandson's innocence intact during the time of terrorism in Peru.

Thus, the man tries to explain the events occurring around them through different tales he tells at a small adobe house.
