Peruvian President Francisco Sagasti on Monday affirmed that the vaccination plan will not be disrupted in the country despite changes.

According to the Head of State, his Government's intense fight against the pandemic shows that —in addition to fighting this lethal virus— internal problems are addressed as well, such as the vaccination of public officials who put their personal interests above the common good.

The President said that —as most Peruvians— he is outraged by this situation, reiterating that "the investigation process is already underway to punish those who deserve it."

The statesman remarked that the Government keeps working to ensure the arrival of more vaccines, their distribution, and the vaccination process itself.

"This vaccination plan will not stop in any way, despite the changes we experience," the President pointed out.

He went on to say that 75,000 health workers have been vaccinated in less than a week.

"And we will continue until those who protect us are all vaccinated. Let us take care of those who care for us," Mr. Sagasti expressed.

Remarks were made as he received two KC-130H Hercules aircraft —acquired from Spain— which will augment Peruvian Air Force's airlift capacity for personnel and cargo.
