The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, have agreed to boost educational digitalization, as well as to provide internet to all children and students in Peru.

According to the official Twitter account of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, this was one of the topics discussed at the meeting both authorities held in New York City on Wednesday morning.

Similarly, the government agency indicated that Guterres supported the Peruvian initiative to establish May 30 as International Potato Day —for its contribution to global food and nutritional security.

According to President Castillo's official schedule, this meeting was part of his activities in the United States on the occasion of the 77th UN General Assembly.

Last Tuesday, the Peruvian Head of State highlighted Guterres' work to promote a more efficient and fair global governance with strong leaderships.
