Peru's President meets with UN Secretary-General

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo held a meeting with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in New York City on Wednesday morning.


Last Tuesday, the Peruvian Head of State highlighted Guterres' work to promote a more efficient and fair global governance with strong leaderships. 

Today's meeting with the UN Secretary General started at 9:00 a.m. (U.S. Eastern time).

According to the schedule, the top official will participate in the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly after this event.

At 11:30 a.m. (local time), Mr. Castillo will hold a meeting with Organization of American States (OAS) Secretary-General Luis Almagro.

During the afternoon, at 2:30 p.m., he will meet with the Secretary of State of the Holy See, HE Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

Later, at 5:30 p.m. the President will participate in the ceremony to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the speech by former Chilean President Salvador Allende at the United Nations General Assembly.

This way, the President of the Republic will complete his official activities in the United States of America and return to the Peruvian capital, Lima.
