Peru's President to present new Ministerial Cabinet on Tuesday

23:20 | Lima, Dec. 18.

The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Sunday announced that she will reshuffle the Ministerial Cabinet, noting that said changes will be made on Tuesday.

In an interview with Cuarto Poder, the Head of State affirmed that one of the changes has to do with the premiership.

"We need to act quickly as a result of the situation of violence perpetrated by a small group (of people) because a great number of Peruvians want to live in peace," she said.

"We have announced that we will reshuffle the Ministerial Cabinet; that's right. We will do so in the coming days. It will be a Cabinet that will be familiar with technical aspects but will be a bit more political," the President added.

As for the acts of violence that have been reported in various parts of the country, the dignitary underscored that the idea of pursuing dialogue will be not be dismissed.

Moreover, the country's top official remarked that the state of emergency was declared in various provinces to safeguard the lives of Peruvians who are against violence.

Regarding the deceased in various demonstrations, the Head of State noted that the corresponding investigations are being carried out by the Prosecutor's Office, adding that this is being investigated in the military jurisdiction.

Mrs. Boluarte also asserted that the purpose of said acts of violence are political, and not social at all, as the people behind them do not care about any social program run by the Executive Branch.
