The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Sunday reaffirmed the Government's commitment to high-quality and inclusive education for all.

This was confirmed in a message on Twitter within the framework of World Children's Day, which is observed today (November 20).

November 20th is an important date as it is the date in 1959 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child.

This declaration, which was not legally binding, was not sufficient to protect the rights of children.

After ten years of negotiations with governments around the world, religious leaders, NGOs, and other institutions, the final text of the Convention on the Rights of the Child was finally adopted on November 20, 1989, and its compliance is mandatory for all countries that signed it.
