The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday highlighted the historic figures recorded due to Peruvian exports in 2021.

"Dear fellow citizens: I am pleased to announce that Peru registered a historic figure in exports in 2021, exceeding US$56 billion," Mr. Castillo stressed via Twitter.

"This record was possible thanks to the exporters, farmers, and workers who are the pillar of the exports chain," he added.

Moreover, the Head of State indicated that foreign shipments from Peruvian regions grew 31%, reaching US$40.804 billion.

"This achievement proves the Government's commitment to this sector and its activities to generate more jobs and well-being for the population," he concluded.

On this occasion, the top official participated in a ceremony to present the results of Peruvian exports during 2021 —the year in which a record figure of US$56.241 billion was registered.
