Peru's President participates in greeting ceremony to Chilean counterpart

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday participated in the greeting ceremony of the Heads of State and Government to Chilean President Sebastian Piñera.



The greeting ceremony took place at La Moneda Palace in Chile's capital, Santiago.

At the event, the Head of State was accompanied by First Lady Lilia Paredes and Foreign Affairs Minister Cesar Landa.

Earlier on Thursday, Mr. Castillo met with President-elect of Chile Gabriel Boric, with whom he discussed issues of interest on the bilateral agenda, as well as cooperation spaces for joint work on regional and global issues.

The Peruvian Head of State and his delegation, made up of the Foreign Affairs Minister Cesar Landa and Ambassador to Chile Jaime Pomareda, were received by Boric at the Municipality of Santiago.

Afterwards, the Peruvian dignitary placed a floral arrangement at the tomb of Chile's former President Salvador Allende in the General Cemetery of Santiago.

In addition, Peru's top official held a meeting with Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso, in which they addressed various issues of the bilateral relationship.
