The
President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, reported Monday morning that State ministers will travel to areas in the country's interior affected by rains that have triggered the activation of ravines and the closure of roads.
The remarks were made at the National Civil Defense Institute (Indeci) National Emergency Operations Center (COEN) in Lima's Chorrillos district.
The Head of State arrived at the site to oversee measures in response to the recent rains.
The President indicated that she will visit the Lima districts affected by this weather phenomenon, which, she said, will intensify in the coming days.
Ministers to travel to central and southern regions
The Head of State explained that Defense Minister Rafael Belaunde will be deployed to Arequipa, from where he will monitor that region, as well as Moquegua and Tacna.
Meanwhile, Agrarian Development and Irrigation Minister Marco Vinelli will travel to the country's interior.
"He will head to the central highlands, where he will monitor the situation and warn the population about possible hailstorms," she added regarding the mission assigned to the Midagri head.

The top official highlighted the coordination carried out by Housing, Construction, and Sanitation Minister Mauricio Arnillas in response to rains in the capital's southern districts.
"Significant progress has been made in draining the water; however, the work has not yet been completed," Fujimori said before announcing that she will visit those areas today.
The President specified that Ministers Luis Dyer (Health) and Maritza Canales (Development-Social Inclusion) will also join the delegation to support the population.
"Rains in the capital, especially in the southern districts, will intensify, particularly today and tomorrow. People in the central and southern regions must remain very alert because the ravines are becoming active," Fujimori warned.
Likewise, she explained that some roads had been closed as a precautionary measure.
"Transport operators have to understand that what matters here is safeguarding people's lives, and when ravines become active and there is movement, it is always a risk," she added.
Rains affect southern Lima
Indeci personnel informed the president that, as a result of heavy rains in Lima, Villa El Salvador district was one of the hardest hit, as 17 drainage systems collapsed and caused street flooding, affecting 298 people and 62 homes.

According to Indeci Chief Luis Enrique Vasquez, as part of the measures adopted in response to the emergency, various state entities ordered the deployment of machinery, including water tankers, hydrojet trucks, water pumps and backhoes, to treat wastewater and clear flooded areas.
General Vasquez also reported that several bypasses in the district do not have drainage systems, causing them to become flooded due to the heavy rains.
Additionally, it was reported that water accumulated in low-lying areas of Chorrillos district, particularly impacting the Santa Rosa market. Machinery was deployed to help rehabilitate the affected areas.
DANA in Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna
President Keiko Fujimori reported that, as a result of a High-Level Isolated Depression (DANA), three southern regions experienced rain, strong winds, hailstorms and snowfall.
The situation has led to the closure of roads as a precautionary measure and, in Tacna, the suspension of all flights.
Indeci reported that the road connecting Atico and Ocoña in Arequipa was closed to vehicular traffic due to the activation of ravines. However, the situation had not affected people's lives or health.
Local authorities ordered machinery to be deployed to clear the roads, saying the work will take place within the next three or four hours.
In Moquegua, the Costanera was the road most affected by the precipitation, along an approximately two-kilometer stretch, due to the activation of ravines.
Authorities, in coordination with a private company, have been carrying out cleanup work in the area since the previous day. The highway has been closed as a precautionary measure.
In Tacna, the activation of Los Burros ravine disrupted vehicular traffic on the road connecting the region with Ilo.
Cleanup work is being carried out to restore the highway. Another ravine was activated in Puerto Grau as a result of the heavy rains.
Tacna authorities also ordered the suspension of in-person classes at schools and the implementation of remote learning.
