The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Wednesday morning led the establishment of a multisectoral commission in charge of proposing coordinated and joint food assistance actions in favor of the most vulnerable population, which incorporates the Citizen Initiatives for Temporary Food Support (ICAAT).

The activity took place at the Tupac Amaru Hall of the Government Palace in Lima.

On Tuesday, the Head of State participated in activities as part of his visit to the Andean region of Pasco, where he called on legislators to talk and put the country's most urgent issues —such as education— on the agenda.

Mr. Castillo thanked Parliament for rejecting the impeachment motion that was put to a vote on Monday, noting that this "has laid the foundations of the democratic space."

Afterwards, he noted that a series of targeted measures have been taken to deal with the rise in fuel prices across the country.

The country's top official explained that such measures are aimed at mitigating the impact of the rise in oil prices at the international level.

Additionally, he remarked that 84 and 90 octane gasoline, 84 octane gasohol, and bulk LPG, have been included in the Price Stabilization Fund for Petroleum-Derived Fuels (FEPC).
