Peru's President leads Council of State session

Peruvian President Francisco Sagasti led a new session of the Council of State on Monday morning.

This time, the meeting included the participation of electoral authorities in order to assess measures against COVID-19 during the election campaign, abiding by the existing health protocols.
 
The session was attended by Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez, Congress Chairwoman Mirtha Vasquez, and Judiciary Chairwoman Elvia Barrios. 

Attorney General Zoraida Avalos and Constitutional Court Chairwoman Marianella Ledesma also participated in this meeting.

The Council of State is the body that brings together the highest authorities of the three branches of State, that is, the President of the Republic, as well as the chairs of Congress and the Judiciary. 

Moreover, the Council of State sessions are intended to address highly relevant issues for the country.
