Peru's President inaugurates EsSalud's Tuman Hospital in Lambayeque region

Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Monday inaugurated Tuman Hospital —which belongs to the Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud) network— in Lambayeque region.

The new healthcare facility will serve COVID-19 patients and those with other diseases.

The event took place within the framework of the decentralized actions carried out as part of the fight against coronavirus in the country.


The new hospital is equipped with 120 hospital beds to accommodate insured children, pregnant women, adults, and senior citizens from the locality of Tuman.

Along with the infrastructure adjustments, Tuman Hospital includes a medical staff made up of doctors, nurses, healthcare technicians, and other health professionals, as well as supplies, materials, and protective equipment for an adequate care of patients.

The new infrastructure will benefit over 70,000 people from old cooperatives in Tuman, as well as from provinces of Chota, Cutervo, and Santa Cruz in Cajamarca region, among others.
