The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday affirmed that the health protocol for the safe return to face-to-face school classes in March 2022 is being refined.

During his participation in the closing event of the 2021 Annual Conference of Executives (CADE-Executives), the Head of State said the protocol seeks to make schools safe spaces to prevent COVID-19 contagion.

"We are preparing to return to face-to-face classes in March 2022 at full capacity. Therefore, the health protocol is being refined, so that schools are safe spaces for teachers, administrative personnel, and students," he expressed.

Concerning the beginning of the renegotiation of the Camisea natural gas contract, the top official reiterated that this process will be carried out within the current legal-constitutional framework, characterized by responsibility, social commitment, and justice.

"We have also made the decision to make natural gas massive starting in the regions of Cusco, Puno, Apurimac, Arequipa, Moquegua, Tacna, Ayacucho, and Ucayali," he added.

According to Mr. Castillo, Peruvians not only have the right to get natural gas at their homes, but also access to fair prices.

Second Agrarian Reform

Lastly, he reaffirmed that the Second Agrarian Reform does not mean expropriation or confiscation, but rather a boost to rural connectivity, access to credit, technical support, public purchases of food, planting and harvesting of water, in favor of more than 2 million citizens residing in the countryside.
